Colour, texture, energy, and emotion are most important to me in my abstract paintings. Sometimes I direct the work, sometimes the work directs me, and often, there is an element of chance.

Some of my works are reverse paintings created by using a palette knife, and acrylic paint on the back of plexiglass. Not preplanned in terms of subject matter, they are driven by colour and intuition.

Paintings are a conversation between viewers and the artist that can take many turns. My viewers may not see the paintings the same way I do: that is what makes abstract painting exciting. Many of my paintings have no title encouraging the viewer to make their own interpretations.
